Nikon Coolpix L12 Reviews

With a plain, silver plastic shell that measures an inch across, the 6-ounce L12 isn't the most slim or stylish shooter. Its compact body curves slightly outward on the right side to make room for two AA batteries that power the camera. The camera's back panel holds a 2.5-inch LCD screen and a handful of controls, including a joypad and a sliding mode switch. The joypad and buttons loom large on the camera and can be manipulated easily, though the mode slider and zoom rocker feel slightly too small to be comfortable.

Nikon’s “L” series digicams bear a striking resemblance (in both form and function) to Canon’s “A” series digital cameras, and there’s nothing wrong with that - imitation is, after all, the sincerest form of flattery. Canon’s “A” series digicams are justly famous for their practicality, flexibility, class leading performance, reasonable pricing, impressive build-quality, and amazing ease of use. The new Coolpix L12, the flagship of Nikon’s “L” family of entry-level digicams, is a sort of doppelganger for Canon’s nifty Powershot A550.

Nikon has a reputation for being the pioneer of photography technology, and is constantly striving to develop new, better cameras for professionals and amateurs alike. The new COOLPIX L12 is the latest addition to the COOLPIX range, which has earned a reputation within the photography community of delivering excellent results through simple camera operation.
